Dear Campus Community,

This week, as we observe National Police Week, I want to take a moment to
recognize and thank the dedicated members of our University Police
Department
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/plattslife/health-safety/university-police/index.html>.
Under the leadership of Chief Pat Rascoe, our University Police presence on
campus is more than a matter of safety. It is a reflection of the strong
partnerships, trust, and community they help build every day.

Our officers serve with professionalism, compassion, and a deep commitment
to protecting and supporting our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Their impact extends well beyond patrol duties. Whether responding to
emergencies, offering educational programming, or participating in
community events, they model what it means to be engaged public servants.

The work of our University Police does not stop at the edge of campus.
Their strong relationships with local, regional, and state law enforcement
agencies ensure that we are part of a broader public safety network that
values collaboration, communication, and shared responsibility.

On behalf of the entire SUNY Plattsburgh community, I offer my sincere
gratitude to our University Police officers for their service, integrity,
and dedication. They help make our campus not only safer, but stronger.

I ask all members of our campus community to take a moment this week to
thank our University Police for all they do, not just during National
Police Week, but every day of the year.

Sincerely,
Dr. Alexander Enyedi
President
