[Important Information for Employees] Update: Campus Heating System #1

Dear Campus Community,

I am writing to update you on an issue with the campus high-temperature hot
water (HTHW) system that occurred yesterday. A leak was detected in Zone 2,
which primarily serves academic and administrative buildings, and is
believed to be located near Yokum Hall. To address the issue, the central
heating system was temporarily drained.

The system has since been refilled, and the heating plant is operational.
Residence halls (Zone 1) are maintaining normal temperatures in the 70s.
However, some academic and administrative buildings in Zone 2 are
experiencing cooler temperatures, including Yokum, Kehoe, Beaumont, Hudson
Main/Annex, Ward, Hawkins, Redcay, and Au Sable. Feinberg is the only Zone
2 building fully heated at this time.

Our facilities team is actively working with repair crews to identify and
resolve the leak. Emergency measures are in place to minimize the impact on
campus operations, and we are making steady progress.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves. If you have
concerns or need adjustments to your workspace conditions, please
coordinate with your supervisor.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore full
heating to all campus buildings.
