Dear Campus Community,

As you may know, across the country, the federal government has revoked
student visas for a small number of international students in the Student
Exchange and Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

SUNY Plattsburgh has learned that, as of yesterday, one of our students has
been impacted by this action. Our Global Education Office has contacted the
student directly to provide appropriate support. We will continue to
monitor the situation, and our Global Education Office will continue to
reach out to any impacted international students as needed.

Our Global Education Office does an outstanding job of advising our
international students. They continue to provide individualized support,
including referring students to the New York State Office for New Americans
<https://dos.ny.gov/office-new-americans> for legal referrals and other
resources, which is closely monitoring and gathering up-to-date information
and guidance.

We encourage international students to reach out to our Global Education
Office with any questions at geo at plattsburgh.edu or 518-564-3287, and visit
the Maintaining F-1 Immigration Status
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/current-students/international/f1/status.html>
page on our website.

Thank you for your continued support and concern for our international
scholars.

Sincerely,
Dr. Alexander Enyedi
President
