[Important Information for Employees] The Death of Paul Steber

Dear Campus Community,

We wanted to let you know of the passing of Paul Steber, former plant
utilities engineer in maintenance and operations, who died Thursday, July
11, 2024, at his home in Chandler, Arizona. He was 75.

Mr. Steber joined M&O on New Year’s Eve 1970 as a power plant helper and
was promoted to steam fireman in March 1972. Promotions led to his position
as stationary engineer in April 1977 and then his final position of plant
utilities engineer in October 1995. He retired a year later, November 15,
1995.

He was born in Shickshinny, Pa., and enlisted in 1966 at age 18 in the U.S.
Air Force, where he served four years. After his service, he joined the
SUNY Plattsburgh community. He moved to Arizona at that time, taking a job
with Clean Harbors Environmental Services in Chandler until retiring in
2013.

While in Plattsburgh, Mr. Steber served as a third-degree member of the
Knights of Columbus and a coach for area Little League.
