[Important Information for Employees] The Death of Jaimie Trautman

Dear Campus Community,

We are saddened to inform you of the Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024 passing of
Jaimie Trautman, longtime member of the campus student affairs team. She
was 89.

Ms. Trautman began her career at SUNY Plattsburgh as assistant dean of
students September 1966. She earned her master’s degree in college and
agency counseling in 1969, and in September 1970, her she was named student
union manager. Two months later, she was promoted to student union.

In September 1974, Ms. Trautman was named acting director of the college
center and was then promoted to director of the student union in April
1977. In September that year, she was promoted again, this time to director
of student activities.

Her career in student affairs continued when in April 1983 she was promoted
to assistant vice president for student affairs, retiring Aug. 31, 1990.
She stayed on past retirement as assistant vice president of student
affairs through May 1991 and senior staff associate in student affairs from
August 1991 through April 1996.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Jan. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m.
at Valcour Inn and Boathouse, 3714 Route 9, Peru. Burial will be in the
Spirit Sanctuary, 304 Cook Road, Essex, N.Y.
