[Important Information for Employees] Transition Plan for Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations

Campus Community,

I am writing to inform you of the upcoming transition in our department of
Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations (FMO) and to outline the plan to
minimize disruption during this period.  As many of you may already know,
Tyson Moulton, our Assistant Vice President of FMO, will be departing SUNY
Plattsburgh for a new opportunity. His last day with us will be April 12,
2024. We extend our gratitude to Tyson for his dedicated service and wish
him all the best in his future endeavors.

In light of this, I want to share our approach to manage this transition:

   1. *Interim Leadership Appointment: *Effective April 15, 2024, Robert
   Boal will step into the role of Interim Director of Facilities.  Robert has
   been a valuable member of our team serving as the Assistant Director of
   Facilities, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead us during
   this interim period. All current direct reports to the Assistant Vice
   President, except for Bob Trombley, will now report to Robert Boal.
   2. *Revised Reporting Structure: *To streamline operations and better
   align with our current needs, both Robert Boal and Bob Trombley will report
   directly to the Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance. This
   adjustment will allow for clearer communication channels and ensure that
   both day-to-day operations and strategic capital projects receive the
   necessary attention.
   3. *Hiring Plan: *We will commence a search to fill the vacancy left by
   Tyson Moulton, with a target hire date of no later than October 12, 2024.
   This six-month timeline is designed to minimize any disruption to our
   operations while ensuring a thorough search.
   4. *Temporary Staffing Support: *To bolster our team during this
   transition, we will explore the possibility of hiring a temporary staff
   member to assist with capital projects and operations.
