Dear Employees,

This is to inform you that the following email was just sent to students.
As we come together on campus once again and begin to see an uptick in
local COVID cases, please be mindful of basic health and hygiene practices,
like handwashing, and remember that social distancing can protect you and
others from COVID. And as always, if you feel symptomatic, you are
encouraged to prioritize your health and the health of our community by
staying home to rest and allow yourself the necessary time to get well.

Please feel free to reach out to Human Resource Services with any questions
or concerns.

Thank you.

Staying Healthy Starts with YOU

*Dear Students*,

As you know COVID-19 is still amongst us and over the past week, the
Student Health & Counseling Center has observed some COVID-19 cases among
students living both on and off campus. So, as we start this academic
year, we want to remind you of some important protocol measures should you
not feel well.

· If you have respiratory symptoms (nasal congestion, sore throat,
cough), mask up and take an at-home rapid antigen test; test kits are
available in the Student Health & Counseling Center lobby. We recommend
that you test no more than once every 24 hours.

· If you have respiratory symptoms and want an appointment with one of
our medical providers, *you will be asked to test for COVID prior to the
appointment. *You can schedule an appointment by contacting us
Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM at (518) 564-2187 or at
healthcenter at plattsburgh.edu

· Students who test positive should follow the campus guidelines
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/covid-19/index.html> and self-isolate. While
students are no longer required to report their positive test results to
the Health Center, please contact us if you have any questions.

· If you have severe symptoms (i.e., shortness of breath with chest
pain), call 911 or dial University Police at (518) 564-2022.

Basic health and hygiene practices, like handwashing, can help protect you
from COVID and other respiratory illnesses. In addition, you may want to
avoid crowded areas, or keep distance between yourself and others. For more
information on how to protect yourself and others from COVID, click here
<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/prevention.html>
.

Remember, to stay healthy make sure you are getting enough sleep, eating
properly, staying hydrated and practicing self-care. Your wellness will
improve your performance both inside and outside the classroom. Have
questions? Contact us at healthcenter at plattsburgh.edu

Stay well,

Student Health & Counseling Center
