Campus Community,
The Plattsburgh Police Department is investigating a report of a female
jogger who was approached off-campus by a male in a vehicle and solicited
for sex.
The incident occurred in the north end of the City at approximately 6 a.m.
this morning. The jogger, who is unaffiliated with SUNY Plattsburgh, was
approached by the vehicle as if to ask for directions before the
solicitation. The vehicle is described as an older model sedan, tan in
color, with older white colored license plates. The driver was described
as a middle-aged white male with brown hair, glasses, and a scruffy
complexion.
Please be aware of your surroundings, travel with friends, don't talk with
strangers, and report suspicious activity to University Police at 518 564
2022.
You may also utilize the campus "SafeWalk" service. Available on Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday nights from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., Student Safety
Ambassadors will escort students and employees to and from locations on
campus.
