Dear Campus Community,
I am writing to share changes made today in the academic affairs division.
Dr. Anne Herzog's employment with the university as provost and senior vice
president has ended effective today. Her role with the university shifts to
a continuing appointment as a professor in the English department.
This leadership position is critical to our academic quality and focus. The
appointment of an interim provost as well as the search for our next
provost will be given the time and attention it deserves.
Earlier, I reached out to members of the faculty leadership and plan to
work with them as we fill the position on an interim basis and then launch
a national search for the next leader of academic affairs. As our search
for a vice president for administration and finance is completed next
semester, we will then begin a search for this position.
It is my intention to have that completed, and a full campus leadership
team in place, by the end of the spring semester.
I appreciate Anne's service to the campus over the past three years and her
investment of time, energy and effort toward our success.
We are a student-centered campus, and the quality, depth and breadth of our
academic programs is paramount. We will continue to prioritize this work
and all we do to support growing enrollment, student success, equity and
inclusion, and our North Country home.
Alex Enyedi
President
