Dear Campus Colleagues,
I am writing to share that Josee Larochelle, our vice president of
Administration and Finance, has set her final day of employment at SUNY
Plattsburgh for August 31, 2022.
Josee has served with distinction as a vice president since 2017. Her
contributions over the past five years have been important, impactful and
strategic. Upon her arrival, Josee worked to strengthen the college’s
financial standing, developing a financial stability plan based on
principles of transparent decision-making and elevated collaboration and
trust. Josee also became a respected financial leader within the SUNY
system where she serves as the first vice president of SUBOA (State
University of New York Business Officers Association) and the regional CFO
of SUNY Potsdam.
In leading her division, Josee has focused on delivering the critical
administrative and operational services we rely on with care and a focus
toward student success. Under Josee's leadership there have been
innovations in many areas of campus operations -- from e-procurement and
staff training to environmental stewardship and a popular staff picnic at
Hawkins Pond. Campus facilities also saw significant improvements,
including the major renovation of Memorial Hall and the simulated patient
lab within the Department of Nursing, both of which will be completed in
the fall.
As officer-in-charge from July 2019 to January 2020, Josee led the campus
during the search for a new president. Her leadership and focus on
collaboration and shared governance during that process laid the groundwork
for my transition to campus, and helped move us forward through the COVID
pandemic that began shortly thereafter. I am deeply grateful to Josee for
all her work prior to my arrival.
Prior to joining SUNY, Josee served as interim vice president of
Administration and Finance at San Jose State University, followed by nearly
10 years at University of California Riverside. Before beginning her work
in public higher education, Josee served in finance and administration
roles with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in Los Angeles.
Josee earned a M.B.A. at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona;
and a B.A. in economics at the University of California, Los Angeles. She
plans to return to California.
We will soon begin the process of searching for the next vice president of
the division. Details will be shared as they are developed.
Please join me in thanking Josee for all of her contributions to the
college. SUNY Plattsburgh has benefited from her expertise, leadership, and
commitment. We wish her well in her next endeavors.
Alexander Enyedi
President
