Dear Members of the College Community,
We were saddened to learn of the recent death of Dr. Peter Corodimas,
professor emeritus of English, who died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. He was 83.
Dr. Corodimas joined what was then known as the humanities department as an
assistant professor in 1970. In 1972, he was an assistant professor in the
English department and was promoted to associate professor there in 1974.
He was promoted to full professorship of English in 1991 and retired, after
30 years of service, in December 2000.
He was born in Plattsburgh and returned to his hometown after earning his
undergraduate degree in English literature from St. Michael’s College, his
master’s at John Carroll University in Cleveland, and his doctorate in
American literature from The Ohio State University. According to family
members, it was his love of fishing that helped lure him back.
A prolific writer, Dr. Corodimas published several short stories, including
one that appeared in the New Yorker Magazine.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Our condolences to all who knew and loved him.
Be well and stay safe,
Gerianne
