Dear Campus Community:

The Student Health & Counseling Center is closely tracking the global
outbreak of monkeypox, which continues to spread in the United States and
New York State. We work closely with the Clinton County Health Department
to ensure that we have the latest information and guidance, and we are
ready to provide medical support if needed.

Prevention is key. Monkeypox is not nearly as contagious as COVID-19, but
care should be taken to avoid or limit direct physical contact with
individuals who have contracted monkeypox or who may have been exposed. If
you develop symptoms, or have reason to believe you have been exposed,
contact your healthcare provider immediately; students should contact
Student Health at (518) 564-2187.

Please check out the Student Health & Counseling Center’s web page
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/plattslife/health-safety/health-counseling-center/index.html>
for monkeypox updates, resources and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Sincerely,

Student Health & Counseling Center
