Dear Campus Community,

We are writing with this week's update on COVID-19 cases and related
information. Updates may also be provided as needed other days of the week.

Over the past 14 days, the campus has recorded 5 positive cases. One
student is reported to be in isolation. No students
or employees are in quarantine. If you are aware of individuals affected,
please respect their privacy.

Details on campus testing and cases are available on the SUNY dashboard,
online at https://www.suny.edu/covid19-tracker/.

*Mandatory Surveillance Testing and Contact Tracing*

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, classes will end on Tuesday,
November 23rd at 10 pm and will resume on Monday, November 29th. Residence
halls will also be closed Wednesday, November 24th at 12 noon through
Sunday, November 28th at 12 noon.

Upon return to campus, we will continue to require weekly mandatory
surveillance testing for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals
who come to campus for any reason (e.g. in-person classes, living in the
residence halls, student organization meetings, etc.). This testing also
includes students who have an exemption and employees who have not
submitted a Vaccination Attestation Form. As a reminder, individuals are
NOT fully vaccinated until two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose
series (i.e. the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines) or two weeks after a
single-dose vaccine (i.e. the Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine). If you
do not meet these requirements you are considered partially vaccinated and
must continue with weekly testing

The Clinton County Health Department conducts contact tracing and
determines who needs to be quarantined based on their level of contact.
Individuals who are fully vaccinated do not have to quarantine unless they
develop symptoms. Vaccinated students can attend pool testing three to five
days after exposure.

We encourage you to take steps daily to ensure the safety for you and all
around you. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, avoid
large social gatherings, and stay home when sick. More information is
online at plattsburgh.edu/COVID-19.
