Dear Members of the Campus Community,

Sadly, we have learned of the passing of several members of our community
in recent weeks whom we would like to remember and share here:



Barbara Eldredge died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, in the sub-acute at
Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. She was 84.

Mrs. Eldredge joined the staff in maintenance and operations as a cleaner
in November 1975 She retired after 22 years of service in December 2007.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, services were private for the family,
with entombment following at the Town of Plattsburgh Mausoleum on Tom
Miller Road. Arrangements were entrusted to the R.W Walker Funeral Home, 69

Richard Oertel, an adjunct lecturer and counselor in human development and
family relations, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at his home in Plattsburgh.
He was 65.

Mr. Oertel served nearly 30 years on staff of Behavioral Health Services
North before retiring in 2019. He joined the SUNY Plattsburgh faculty in
January 2006 where he taught in various departments prior to ending up in
human development and family relations where he taught a course on mental
health. He was married to Jacqueline Oertel, a lecturer who also teaches in
human development and family relations.

Arrangements are on hold because of the pandemic; an informal memorial will

Martha Levy, 70, passed away Jan. 3, 2021, after battling pulmonary
fibrosis for several years.

She studied as a draftsman at Hudson Valley Community College and worked on
the first CAD system in the country with Stone & Webster in Boston, Mass.
While studying at SUNY Plattsburgh, she began working in the Office of
Institutional Research in October 1977 as a research assistant. She earned
a degree in general studies from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1979, and became a
technical assistant in September of that year. She left the college in
August 1989. She and her husband, Bill, founded Ceragraphics, a local
screen printing business.

She was buried Jan. 5 at Spirit Sanctuary, Essex, N.Y. A celebration of her

Homer Snow, 89, of Dry Bridge Road in Au Sable Forks, died Thursday, Jan.
7, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Snow joined the college’s maintenance and operations department as a
cleaner in January 1973. He was named supervising janitor in May 1989 and
retired in April 1993.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Jan. 13 at the Church of the Holy
Name in Au Sable Forks. Burial will be in the spring at Holy Name Cemetery.

Loretta Delisle of Cadyville died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at the UVM-CVPH
Medical Center. She was 88.

Mrs. Delisle joined the staff in maintenance and operations in March 1974
and became a cleaner in August 1979, retiring in December 1994.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Jan. 16 at St. James Church in
Cadyville. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.
