[Important Information for Employees] Getting Tickets & Volunteering for Graduation Events

Dear Campus Community,

Event selection opens at noon today for the Saturday, May 15 in-person
graduation programs for the Class of 2021.

Following state and county Department of Health guidelines for graduation
events, we are planning to hold a series of five smaller, in-person
commencement ceremonies in the Field House gymnasium. These will be at 8
a.m., 10 a.m., Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

*We are able to have a limited number of teaching faculty and staff attend
in seats.* We will not have the traditional walk into the gym, but those in
regalia will have socially distanced seats to watch the ceremonies.

The college ticketing system is being used to reserve a particular time or
times. You may attend more than one. When a program is full, it is full, so
there are no guarantees on time. Tickets will not be available after
Friday, May 7.

*In order to attend the event/s of your choice, you must meet state health
requirements.* This means ahead of the graduation event you must complete
one of the following:

   - Completed your COVID-19 vaccine series at least 14 days prior to the
   event. You can show your Excelsior Pass or vaccination card.
   - Provide proof of a negative diagnostic COVID-19 test taken within 72
   hours of the event. It must be a PCR or similar test. Bring
   documentation of the result.
   - Participate in a campus pooled surveillance test being set up for
   Wednesday morning, May 12. We have determined this can meet state
   requirements. Details on this process will be shared later.
   - Provide proof you have fully recovered from a lab-confirmed case of
   COVID-19 in the last three months. This includes proof of your prior
   positive test result and completed order of isolation within the last 90
   days.

*For those with tickets and meeting the health requirements, we ask you to
visit pre-check-in tables in the ACC during Commencement Week. *Details
will be shared later. Attendees will be given a bracelet corresponding to
their event time. You will be required to arrive a half-hour early for the
commencement-day event/s to allow for screening.

An online Zoom event for graduates who are not able to participate
in-person will be held at 6 p.m.

Regalia is available at the Campus Bookstore. For health and safety
reasons, master's degree graduates will wear their hoods into the program
rather than have them presented on stage.

Because of health department guidelines family and friends will not be able
to attend the in-person ceremonies. We will be sharing each graduating
group’s celebration via livestream. Recordings will also be online after
the program.

*Volunteering*
As in past years, we are in need of volunteers for duties ranging from
ushers to check-in staff. All volunteers, like formal attendees, must have
completed their vaccine sequence or have a negative diagnostic COVID test
within 72 hours of the events. Volunteers do not need to order a separate
ticket.

Please email president_office at plattsburgh.edu with your availability to
support our graduates.

Because of health department guidelines family and friends will not be able
to attend the in-person ceremonies. We understand this is disappointing. We
will be sharing each graduating group’s celebration via livestream.
Recordings will also be online after the program. Please understand guests
or spectators will not be allowed to enter the Field House or other campus
facilities due to ongoing COVID restrictions.
