SENT ON BEHALF OF HUMAN RESOURCE SERVICES

As a follow-up to President Enyedi’s message on March 23rd regarding
Planning for Our Fall Return to Campus, I would like to provide some
additional guidance for employees. We are a residential campus and
students depend on the vibrancy of the faculty and staff on campus.

It has been a challenging year, to say the least, and we truly appreciate
all the employees that have persevered and continued to support the
College, our students, and the safety of our entire campus community. While
the coronavirus may never be entirely eradicated, the increased
availability of vaccines and the declining regional infectivity rates are
encouraging, even as we acknowledge that things will never be the same for
so many families directly impacted by the virus.

Most non-teaching employees are currently reporting to campus to fulfil
their work obligations. There are a few positions that work at alternate
locations for specific reasons (such as an Admissions Recruiter within a
certain geographic area, etc.) and those will continue. The employees that
have been granted a COVID-19 specific accommodation for the 2020-2021
academic year, due to a dependent child enrolled in a remote/hybrid
classroom or due to being in a household with someone that is in a
high-risk category, will continue through July 2, 2021.

After July 2nd, requests for remote work will only be considered due to a
specific individual health situation or disability via the Reasonable
Accommodations for State Employees Policy
<https://www.plattsburgh.edu/about/offices-divisions/administration-finance/management-services/campus-handbook/section-iv-employment-benefits/ada-reasonable-compliance-policy.html>.
If interested in this option, the ADA Reasonable Accommodation Form
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M4nmQhq0zNUDocvU3JFfvy7ZA8WeX9sn/view>
should be directed to Human Resource Services at hrs at plattsburgh.edu.

Teaching faculty are also returning to mostly face-to-face modalities for
the Fall 2021 semester. Courses that would typically be offered online to
serve a specific program, purpose, or target audience may remain online.
Otherwise, teaching faculty should expect to perform the modality agreed
upon with their respective Chair and Dean.

As we have learned throughout the pandemic, it is important to have a plan
but we recognize that even the best plans can be altered as situations
change. We will continue to follow all CDC and NYS health and safety
guidance; the safety of our campus community will continue to be our
priority.

Stay safe and be well!
