[Important Information for Employees] Malwarebytes software update

Throughout the week, the LITS Desktop Support Group will be updating
all Malwarebytes
security software on campus-owned, Windows-based computers.

You may receive intermittent alerts that your system isn’t being protected,
or you might be prompted to restart your computer. These messages are
 normal.

Our old Malwarebytes client and its components need to be fully uninstalled
so that we can install our newer, more lightweight version. Most of
the messages
you see should not display more than once or twice per device. If you see
them more than that, please contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk at plattsburgh.edu or
(518) 564-4433.

*How will this new version be different? *
We don’t expect you to notice any differences at all once the new version
is installed (with the exception that your computer may seem a little
quicker or more responsive).

Due to the required restarts, please be sure to save your work frequently on
your machine and in Google drive.
