Dear Campus Community,

The campus was notified this morning that an off-campus student has tested
positive for COVID-19. This is the first case associated with the campus
community since August 22.

The individual is following prescribed protocols. The county health
department is engaged in contact tracing to reach those who may have been
in close contact with the individual.

When we verify positive tests within the local campus community we will
inform you and follow our outlined approaches for health and safety. We
respect the privacy of individuals and will support them. If you are aware,
please also respect their privacy.

Positive cases are expected, and the reason for isolation, quarantine and
all of the approaches developed as part of our fall restart plan.

Continuing to follow health and safety protocols such as face coverings and
social distancing remains critical. With just six weeks of classes
remaining on campus, the number of cases in Clinton County as a whole have
risen. This should prompt our attention and care.

Pooled testing will continue Wednesday with more than 1,000 students. The
latest data and other details are online at *plattsburgh.edu/covid-19*
