[Important Information for Employees] COVID-19 Cases | Wednesday Update

Dear Campus Community,

I am writing to thank you for your collective work to flatten the COVID-19
case curve. We have recorded no new cases within the campus community the
last three consecutive days.

Over the past seven days we have seen four positive cases, and 13 cases
over the past two weeks within the campus community.

By direction of the county health department, 34 students (23 on-campus and
11 off-campus) and 10 employees are in mandatory or precautionary
quarantine. Those in isolation and quarantine are being released as they
recover and risk times expire. Additionally, one student is in
precautionary isolation having tested negative with a rapid test but
awaiting back-up PCR test results.

We respect the privacy of those in isolation and quarantine and will
support them. If you are aware, please also respect their privacy.
Decisions by the health department for quarantine are based on an
assessment of potential exposure to help prevent possible viral spread.

A total of 1,314 samples were collected during this week's pooled
surveillance testing. Results will be shared when available. Next week,
November 11-13, we will be conducting mandatory pooled testing of all
students. Our departure plan for this testing has been submitted to SUNY
and will be shared soon.

Cases remain high off-campus across Clinton County and statewide. Please
continue our focus on prevention, health and safety. This includes:

   - Complete the daily health screening

   - Follow the Cardinal Pledge, including face coverings, distancing and
   avoiding large social gatherings.

   semester.
