Dear Campus Community,
The campus community recorded one new case of COVID-19 on Sunday. The
student, now isolating, was the only positive identified through the most
recent pooled surveillance testing of 1,416 samples.
Over the past 14 days, 29 cases have been recorded within the campus
community. Additionally, three students are in precautionary isolation
having tested negative with a rapid test but awaiting back-up PCR test
results.
By direction of the county health department, 40 students (13 on-campus and
27 off-campus) and 10 employees are in mandatory or precautionary
quarantine. Those in isolation and quarantine are being released as they
recover and risk times expire.
We respect the privacy of those in isolation and quarantine and will
support them. If you are aware, please also respect their privacy.
Decisions by the health department for quarantine are based on an
assessment of potential exposure to help prevent possible viral spread.
As we see cases increase across Clinton County and statewide, please
continue our focus on prevention, health and safety. This includes:
- Complete the daily health screening

form.
- Follow the Cardinal Pledge, including face coverings, distancing and
avoiding large social gatherings.
- Stay local and avoid travel outside the area for the duration of the
semester.
- Download *the New York State COVID-19 alert app*
<https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-alert-ny>.
Pooled surveillance testing continues on Tuesday and Wednesday. Next week,
November 11-13, we will be conducting mandatory pooled testing of all
students. Details will be shared soon.

President
