[Important Information for Employees] Unused Annual Leave Allowed to be Carried Through 2021

Many employees have been working tirelessly to support the campus during
the COVID-19 pandemic. While we applaud this dedication, supervisors are
encouraged to allow the use of vacation or other accruals when possible in
order to promote a healthy work-life balance. As the end of the year
approaches, employees may not have had the opportunity to use leave
accruals as they may have in years past.



To acknowledge this, the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER) has
reached an agreement with all unions on an extension of the upcoming annual
leave expiration date of December 31, 2020. Further, this extension applies
to management/confidential (M/C) employees who would otherwise forfeit
unused annual leave on January 1, 2021.



All such unused annual leave can now be carried through December 31, 2021.



No employee action is necessary. Changes will be made programmatically to
the Time and Attendance System that will allow all unused annual leave to
be carried into 2021.

As we move toward the end of the fall semester and into the holiday season,
hopefully employees will be able to take some much-needed time off.  Please
coordinate time off requests with your supervisor. Any questions or
