*This week's highlights:*

Four SUNY Plattsburgh students presented research at the American College
of Sports Medicine’s Greater New York Conference April 22. Three seniors —
Eden Cormie, Nicole Hayes and Gabriela Herrera — and sophomore Koree
Stillwell traveled to New York City together with their adviser Andreas
Stamatis and Assistant Professor of Exercise and Nutrition Cody Dulaney.

When SUNY Plattsburgh hired Mike Howard as director of intercollegiate
athletics and recreation in 2016, it had 17 varsity athletic programs.
Howard knew he wanted to expand on that figure. He looked to Cardinals
men’s lacrosse, which hadn’t missed the SUNYAC tournament since 2012, and
knew one potential team made the most sense: women’s lacrosse. Read more

Champlain Valley Voices, a community ensemble based in Plattsburgh, is
presenting “Broadway Stage and Screen,” a choral concert at Giltz
Auditorium in Hawkins Hall. Consisting of about 45 community singers, this
concert will feature selections from popular musicals, including “Phantom
of the Opera,” “Les Misérables,” “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast” and
“Sweeney Todd.” Read more here

Middle school often helps shape adolescents and who they are. Drama club is
the only activity that gets Callie through one of the most awkward times in
a person’s life.  After her mother took her to a production of the musical
“Les Miserables,” Callie became obsessed with the art of the stage. This
inspired her to join her school’s stage crew. Raina Telgemeier’s 2012
graphic novel, “Drama,” has a double meaning as it focuses on the dramatic
arts and the dramatic life of a middle school student. Read Alexa's book
