*This week's highlights:*

The Student Association Senate discussed two large topics at its meeting
Oct. 12. The first being work ethic, brought up by SA President Taiba
Azeem, and the second on Black Solidarity Day. Azeem asked senators to look
at their progress this semester and hold them accountable for their work.
The senate was also asked to listen to the ideas for Black Solidarity from
two members of the planning committee. Read more about the meeting here

In an effort to inform and involve the community, the City of Plattsburgh
Climate Task Force held an event to address current environmental concerns
and solutions in the North Country. SUNY Plattsburgh students from Curt
Gervich's sustainability class volunteer in various committees within the

The Plattsburgh State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and
Recreation and the Office of Alumni Relations welcomed four new members to
the Plattsburgh Athletic Hall of Fame Oct. 14. The department elected
Lindsey Douglas nee Keyser, Mike Figliola, Stephanie Moberg and Ellen
Turkel to be the newest alumni bestowed with the honor in the 37th class.

Asexual Awareness Week takes place this year from Oct. 23 to Oct. 29.
Asexuality is defined as an individual who experiences no sexual
attraction. They do not find any person, anybody nor any
characteristics sexually appealing. However, what many fail to realize is
asexuality is a spectrum. Read more in opinions here
