[Academic-Affairs] CTE Announcement

Colleagues,

      I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kelly Theisen has accepted our
offer to serve as Interim Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence
(CTE), here at SUNY Plattsburgh.  Dr. Theisen brings a wealth of experience
to the role as well as expertise in methods and pedagogy.  What struck me
in visiting with her last month is that she is firmly committed to building
a culture of teaching excellence here and very well situated to do so.  Not
only has she been involved with current CTE programming, the fact that her
work is informed by the concept of growth mindset promises innovative
approaches to how the university can support our teaching and learning
environment.

     Dr. Theisen will serve in a part-time capacity and follows Dr.
Jessamyn Neuhaus, who is leaving SUNY Plattsburgh for a new professional
opportunity.  A national search for the full-time permanent appointment is
forthcoming.
