Dear colleagues,

As you probably know, the College of St. Rose has signed a formal teach-out
agreement with SUNY Plattsburgh. We are very pleased by this development
and look forward to serving St. Rose students affected by the closure of
their college.

We write with some guidance on the program equivalency process as well
advising for St. Rose students interested in coming here. First, having a
formal teach-out agreement means that we agree to help St. Rose students
complete their programs of study without requiring more work than they
would have had to do were they finishing at St. Rose. What this means is
that there will likely be exemptions and/or waivers of certain program
requirements in specific cases. Many of you have worked on program
equivalencies for this agreement and understand that many times there is
not a one-to-one equivalency for certain St. Rose classes, but rather an
equivalency across various courses. Generally speaking, this "learning
outcomes" approach will need to be taken in other ways as well, unique and
specific to individual programs. We attach a copy of the teach-out
agreement for your information, but for purposes of this message we paste
below some items pertinent to what we describe immediately above:

-SUNY Plattsburgh agrees to waive all admission, enrollment, and/or
transfer application fees for all Saint Rose Students attending SUNY
Plattsburgh under this Agreement.

-To the extent permitted by applicable law, SUNY Plattsburgh will accept
all credits previously earned by Saint Rose Students, and shall waive any
applicable residency requirements with respect to each Saint Rose Student,
including any requirements that students complete a certain number of
credit hours at SUNY Plattsburgh.

-SUNY Plattsburgh will, to the greatest extent practicable, ensure that
Saint Rose Students receive the benefit of any required clinical rotations,
internships, or other program elements necessary for continued academic
progress and graduation. To the extent SUNY Plattsburgh is unable to do so,
it shall use its best efforts to provide suitable replacements for Saint
Rose Students in a manner that will not delay such Saint Rose Students'
graduation.

We will be in communication with deans and chairs as we work through this
process, providing more information and guidance as necessary. Should you
have questions about the teach-out agreement or about equivalencies, don't
hesitate to reach out.

Many thanks,
