[Academic-Affairs] Seeking two faculty members to help with Honors Society induction

Hello Colleagues,


The President and I have been contacted about Phi Kappa Phi, an Honors
Society available to our students that has not held an initiation since
April 22, 2019.  I immediately remember the onset of COVID's challenges
during that very semester and month, thus the gap in activity.

I am seeking two faculty members or professionals from Academic Affairs who
would be willing to plan an induction ceremony for Phi Kappa Phi this
spring--to start revitalizing our Plattsburgh chapter and to avoid the
deactivation of our charter membership.  Identification of potential
students who would be eligible could be managed out of my office.  This
really is a matter of planning and hosting an induction ceremony.


I would hope, moving forward, that the chapter could become more active,
but that would depend on student interest.  The commitment here is simply
the induction ceremony for this spring.


Please reply to provost-office at plattsburgh.edu, if you or you and a
colleague are interested in working together.  I don't believe it will
require a lot of time, and I would be so appreciative of the assistance
with Phi Kappa Phi.
