The Institute for Ethics in Public Life invites you
to join us for "War with Iran" on Wednesday, March 11 at 3:30pm in-person or on Zoom, featuring
Institute Director Dr. Daniel Lake, Professor of Political Science.

The combined US and
Israeli attack on Iran on Saturday, Feb. 28, came as a surprise to many
of us. While the buildup of US forces in the region was clearly
threatening towards Iran, there was little indication that war was
imminent. The suddenness of the attack and the multiple rationales
offered by administration officials raise important questions about why
the US and Israel attacked Iran. Additional questions of interest include how the war is proceeding during this early
phase, what the next couple of months are likely to bring, and how and
when it is likely to end.

We will start with an overview of what
is happening, why the war began, and what it means as best we can
determine from available information by Institute Director Dr. Daniel
Lake. This portion will be recorded for those who aren't able to attend.
We will then transition to an open discussion of topics of interest and
concern to those present.

Dr. Daniel R. Lake is Director of the
Institute for Ethics in Public Life and Professor of Political Science
specializing in international relations, particularly international
conflict and security. He has published work on coercive air power and
on the use of technology by the US military. He teaches courses on
international relations, national security issues, war, and American
foreign policy. Dr. Lake is also a former US Army military intelligence
officer and veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

Please
