Skopp Creative Competition on the Theme of the Holocaust.</b><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;color:rgb(34,34,34)"> </span><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;color:rgb(34,34,34)">The competition honors the late Professor Douglas R. Skopp by recognizing an outstanding student creation that deals with the ideas and issues surrounding the Holocaust. We are now accepting submissions for the 2026 award.</span></div><div><div><br></div></div><div><div>The competition is open to current full and part-time students at SUNY Plattsburgh. Entries may take a wide range of forms, including original essays, research papers, historical analyses, stories, poems, visual artworks, musical compositions, theatrical works, and video productions. They may take a scholarly, artistic, or personal approach to understanding and engaging with the meanings of the Holocaust. </div></div><div><div><br></div></div><div><div>Submissions will be judged by a multidisciplinary jury of faculty members, with the winner receiving a monetary award of $250. The award will be presented in April at the college’s annual Holocaust commemoration, Days of Remembrance. The award winners will make a presentation or performance based on their creation during the ceremony, which is held in the Douglas and Evelyne Skopp Memorial Gallery in Feinberg Library.</div></div><div><div><br></div></div><div><div>Entries will be accepted until 4:00 PM on <b>Friday, March 27, 2026</b>.</div></div><div><div><br></div></div><div><div>An entry form and instructions are available in the document below.
