<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style=""><font face="verdana, sans-serif"><b style="">Borrowing books from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)</b> will soon become faster than ever for our campus community. That's because Feinberg Library has implemented a new resource-sharing service within our Alma system.<br><br>Alma is the behind-the-scenes platform that we use to manage physical collections, digital subscriptions, and licenses. This system now supports borrowing from other libraries<span class="gmail_default" style=""></span>—faster and more efficiently than our existing Illiad system.<br><br><b style="">An easy, transparent process for patrons</b><br><span class="gmail_default" style="">There's no learning curve needed here, since t</span>he new I<span class="gmail_default" style="">LL</span> system's user interface is very similar to the ILLiad system. Your search selections will <span class="gmail_default" style="">still </span>auto-populate into an online form when you choose to receive materials not available in Feinberg Library.<br><br>NOTE: For now, only<b style=""><span class="gmail_default"></span> books and media </b>will process through the Alma system. Article requests will be handled <span class="gmail_default" style="">automatically </span>in ILLiad<span class="gmail_default" style="">; you will not need to select any separate options when making requests.</span><br><br>The new system<span class="gmail_default" style=""> will</span> also offer<span class="gmail_default" style=""></span> <b style=""><span class="gmail_default"></span>longer loan periods</b> in many cases, as well as <b style=""><span class="gmail_default"></span>easy renewals</b>.<br><br>W<span class="gmail_default" style="">e plan to launch the Alma ILL service by the end of this month. As always, feel free to contact our ILL team with any questions.</span><br><ul><li><font face="verdana, sans-serif">Phone: (518) 564-5301</font></li><li><font face="verdana, sans-serif">Email: <a href="mailto:interlibraryloan@plattsburgh.edu" target="_blank" style="">interlibraryloan@plattsburgh.edu</a></font></li></ul></font><font face="verdana, sans-serif">Best wishes for a productive and enjoyable academic year,<br><br></font><div style=""><div style=""><span class="gmail_default" style=""><font face="verdana, sans-serif">--Feinberg Library</font></span></div></div></div></div>
