Institute for Ethics in Public Life invites you to join us for "Talking
and Writing About the Holocaust" with special guest Stuart Brody
(Senior Scholar at the Institute) on Wednesday, April 8, at 3:30pm
in-person and on Zoom.</b><br> <br>What are the issues we confront when
we talk and write about the Holocaust? This is not a simple question, in
part due to cultural and political differences between Israeli Jews and
American Jews. Conventional wisdom presents a picture of identity
between Jews of the US and those of Israel, yet the culture is actually
vastly different starting with the immediacy of the Holocaust in the
lives of Israeli vs. American Jews. The discussion will explore this and
a variety of cultural differences that yield cleavages in the two
populations even though they ultimately are tied together.<br><br>Stuart
Brody, Esq., has been involved with the Institute for Ethics in Public
Life for over 15 years and is a member of the inaugural group of Senior
Scholars. He is the author of Humphrey and Me (2023), for which he won
the Grateful American Book prize for historical fiction (2024). He is
also the author of The Law of Small Things: Creating a Habit of
Integrity in a Culture of Mistrust (Penguin Random House, 2019). He is
also an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Arizona in the School of
Government and Public Policy.<br> <br><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Please
