 "A Dysfunctional Superpower: Can A Divided America Deter China and 
Russia?", by former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates. In the 
article, Sec. Gates explains why he is very concerned about the 
combination of near future challenges by various rivals including China,
 Russia, North Korea, and Iran while the US is deeply divided, and lays 
out what he thinks we should be doing in response. We'll critically 
discuss his argument and recommendations.<br></span></span></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:trebuchet ms,sans-serif;margin-left:40px"><span><span><br></span></span></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:trebuchet ms,sans-serif;margin-left:40px"><span><span>This
 is an opportunity to learn more about how experts view the current 
international environment,  consider the extent to which Sec. Gates'
