<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:comic sans ms,sans-serif;font-size:large;color:#a64d79"><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt">These SUNY-wide committees are open to all Plattsburgh faculty (academic and professional)!</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt"><br></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt">We are excited to open the University Faculty Senate Standing Committee Application for 2022-2023.  </span><span style="font-size:13pt;color:black">We appreciate the hard work that our Senators and Campus Governance Leaders do for the Senate, but much of the work produced by the Senate each year is a direct outcome of the activities carried out by our nine</span><span style="font-size:13pt"> <a href="http://www.sunyufs.us/committee-reports.html" target="_blank">standing committees</a><span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)">.  </span>The committees drive most of our initiatives, <span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)"><a href="http://www.sunyufs.us/approved-resolutions.html" target="_blank">resolutions</a>, <a href="http://www.sunyufs.us/papers--statements.html" target="_blank">white papers</a></span> and actions, and give our group an even broader perspective that what we can achieve with our 54 elected representatives.  Please take some time to review the <span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)"><a href="https://system.suny.edu/facultysenate/committees/" target="_blank">committee charges</a></span> to familiarize yourself with their work scope.  Before applying, please also consider the time commitment required.  At the minimum you will expect monthly meetings (virtual) </span><span style="font-size:13pt;color:black">and carry out assigned individual or collaborative research/actions for your committee. </span><span style="font-size:13pt">  </span><span style="font-size:13pt;color:black">Most importantly, all committee members are expected to attend in person the UFS Fall Planning Meeting, which will be held this year in<b><i> Saratoga, NY on September 8^th and 9^th.</i></b>  THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY and in-person participation is required.  Those with valid ADA/COVID requirements may request accommodations for remote participation by contacting the UFS Office. </span><span style="font-size:13pt"><u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt">The committee member term is for one year<span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)">,</span> with eligibility of renewal each year for (usually) up to three years before we ask that you either change committees or take a year off.  Committee chairs are selected by the UFS President, and will be the main conduit between the committee and the executive committee.  The executive committee brings all approved committee work to the body at least once per year.<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt">New committee members must fill out the registration form and submit a CV.  Returning committee members must also fill out the registration form if they wish to continue to serve on the same committee (no CV required) or if they wish to apply to serve on a new committee (new CV required). <u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt">CV’s must be no more than 2 pages and include the information that is most current and applicable to the committee(s) to which you are applying.  We are all accomplished and most have many publications.  Unless they are specifically relevant, please do not include in your submitted CV.  We do read each person’s credentials and we get more than one hundred applications per year.  Thank you for your consideration.<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt"><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(34,34,34);font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span style="font-size:13pt">The Executive Committ
