--></style></head><body lang="EN-US" link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72" style="word-wrap:break-word"><div class="WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal">Dear Members of our Campus Community,</p><p class="MsoNormal">We are saddened to have learned of the Jan. 3, 2024 passing of longtime nursing faculty member and alumna Alice Kehoe Champagne, 90, formerly of Plattsburgh and since retirement in 1995 of Beverly Hills, Florida.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Mrs. Champagne earned her bachelor’s in school nurse-teacher education from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1954 and a master’s in education from the university in 1958. Mrs. Champagne joined the faculty as an assistant professor of nursing in 1967. In 1986 she earned a master’s in nursing from Russell Sage College and was promoted to associate professor two years later. She was certified as a family nurse practitioner in 1986 by the American Nurses Association, was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the nursing honor society, as well as the American Nurses Association at the national, state and district levels. She served on the Board of Directors of the Clinton-Essex County American Red Cross. She retired from the university in May 1995.
