--></style></head><body lang="EN-US" link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72"><div class="WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal">Dear Members of our Campus Community,</p><p class="MsoNormal">It is with great sadness that we let you know about three of our campus friends and colleagues who have passed away over the last few weeks.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><b>Leon “Butch” Clodgo</b></p><p class="MsoNormal">Leon “Butch” Clodgo, 75, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at his home in Keeseville.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Mr. Clodgo joined the campus community as a steam foreman in the heating plant in March 1968. He later became the station engineer there. After his promotion, he worked at both Clinton Correctional Facility and Bare Hill in Malone before returning to SUNY Plattsburgh as a maintenance supervisor 1 with maintenance and operations in 1977. He was promoted to maintenance supervisor IV in 1989 in maintenance and operations where he remained until his October 2002 retirement.</p><p class="MsoNormal">A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he enlisted out of high school and was honorably discharged just prior to his long career at SUNY Plattsburgh.</p><p class="MsoNormal">At his request, there were no calling hours or funeral service. He was 67.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Mr. Lawrence joined the college staff in printing and duplicating in January 1978, retiring in June 2009. If anyone on campus needed help with a print order, he was the go-to person. Although he retired in 2009, he returned to P and D to help out for another year and a half, leaving for real in January 2011.</p><p class="MsoNormal">He was a lieutenant in the Lyon Mountain Fire Department, the Plattsburgh Moose Lodge and an avid snowmobiler. </p><p class="MsoNormal">At his request, there were no calling hours. He was 74.</p><p class="MsoNormal">He joined the faculty as an assistant professor in political science in September 1985 and rose to the rank of associate professor five years later. Dr. Konda retired from full-time teaching in December 2015 but returned as an adjunct professor, teaching for the fall 2017 semester in the honors program.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Dr. Konda earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Alabama, his master’s in political science from the University of New Orleans and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Kentucky.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Often consulted by area media on government and conspiracy issues, Dr. Konda wrote “Conspiracies of Conspiracies,” a comprehensive intellectual history of conspiratorial thinking in the United States beginning in the 18th century, during his retirement.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Calling hours are Saturday, Feb. 5 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, La., 70119.
