--></style></head><body lang="EN-US" link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72"><div class="WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal">Dear Members of the Campus Community,</p><p class="MsoNormal">We were saddened to have learned about the passing of Anna Nardelli, professor emerita of education, who died Monday, 5, 2021, at her Plattsburgh home. She was 86.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Mrs. Nardelli started teaching in public schools in 1956, teaching for several years prior to joining the SUNY Plattsburgh faculty where she supervised student teachers and designed and taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in educational foundation, curriculum and instruction, language arts, literacy development, children’s literature and more. She was well known and highly respected for the faculty development programs she conducted in public and private schools in the region.</p><p class="MsoNormal">She was the recipient of a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Phi Delta Kappa Educator of the Year Award and the SUNY Plattsburgh Center for Lifelong Learning Outstanding Adult Student Educator Emeriti Award. She and her late husband, Frank, traveled to Italy to student the Montessori Method of teaching. After retiring in 1995, Mrs. Nardelli served as curriculum consultant to local school districts, assisting administrators and teachers in developing district-wide guidelines based on state educational standards.
